Rant I can; rant I will
I hate people.
I hate people I meet in places where you shouldn't really be spending time, but you always do. Places like lobbies, queues, traffic jams, elevators.
Particularly Elevators.
The guy who invented the elevator must've been pretty impressed with himself. He probably thought "Gosh dude, this is like so totally cool. People won't like have to you know, walk up and down and stuff"
What the poor guy didn't realize was that he was actually creating tiny claustrophobia inducing capsules of hell.
And I haven't even started talking about the people.
Okay, you know what, I'm not gonna go into details. In fact, I'm gonna talk about just one guy. One single dude.
I call him Overtly-Effeminate-Random-Guy-Who-Apparently-Lives-In-My-Building (OERGWALIMB for short)
I don't know him. I've lived here for four years now. I still have no idea who he is/what he does/on which floor he lives.
But this lack of information doesn't seem to bother him. Mr.Watsisname insists on talking to me. Every single time. And he gets on my nerves. Real bad.
Its always the same questions:
"Where are you studying"
"Oh. You know I studied in ______"
"How are your studies going?"
"How is Dubai?"
"How long will you be here?"
"Which branch?"
"What are you planning to do after B.E.?"
.
.
.
.
Yep, every single time.
Today (thankfully) I didn't have to spend more than 10 seconds with him. I was getting out of the elevator and he was entering. And still, that amazing man pissed me off.
As I was walking (read: running) away from him he shouts-not remarks-he shouts "Oh! Your hair is straight. Did you get it straightened?"
Die, you bloodsucking rat, die.
Now I ask the normal people out there: why on earth do you have to state the obvious? For four years my hair has been like chocolate colored fusili pasta pasted on a human head. Hair doesn't decide on a random morning "Hey, I wanna be straight!" (no pun intended. However, a person is more likely to "switch" his/her sexuality than my hair getting de-curled on its own) Its like asking a corpse "Excuse me, but are you dead?"
I don't know what to make of him. Either he's some sort of an evil perv or he's just plain perky.
Either way, when I rule the world, I'm throwing him into the Pit of (death and) Despair.

Have had cutesy pie dreams.
Have pink clothes in closet. Lots of pink clothes.
Have watched rom-coms despite ANTI ROMCOMS stance.
Have used the "M" word in regular speech. Argh!!! (look above)

Things that are just plain wrong
When you're trying to lose weight and hence end up in something called a Gym and work your rear end off out (FIGURATIVELY things like this never happen in real life :( ) you're usually tired. Almost so tired that a tiny part of you keeps hoping that you slip and break a couple of bones just so that you don't have to go through that again.
And you're hungry too.
Okay, you're always hungry.
Anyway, somehow, in manner of Freedom Fighter in 1947, despite your oh-so-many injuries (just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there. The cast of Twilight and Paris Hilton are known exceptions to this rule) you crawl all the way to the lobby of your stupid building.
Guess who's in the elevator with you?
If you guessed "fart man" or "nosey guy" or the "forever talker" or similar, you're wrong.
Its worse.
Much, much worse.
Its the Pizza Delivery Guy.
And he has more than one large, smells-like-heaven pizza.
And yes, your next door neighbours ordered it.

Do you believe in love at first sight....
Had an awesome day yesterday. And today. Easily the best 24hrs EVER! thanks to three super sweet and absolutely useless morons!
Bridget Jones's Diary (obviously...what's the point of having a slumber party if Bridget is not invited) and John Tucker Must Die...'twas fun. :D
Anyhoo, two of them left early, which means me spent most day with oldest friend who wants to go by the nickname NIRVANA (she is so not cool enough to pull that off!). First stop: favourite coffee shop in Powai...Aromas...delicious Flat White...mmmm...caffeine heaven...
Second stop: Supermarket - moms, ya know!
Third stop: Bookstore...
Favourite place in Hiranandani, Crossword...spent almost 20 minutes in the kiddie section, discussing the childhood we still haven't grown out of (well not completely...I still have 3 balloons in my room that I stole from my 8 year old neighbour's birthday party yesterday. And I love blowing bubbles). I was talking about Roald Dahl (hugs!) and just how amazingly awesome he is...Just before leaving, forced Nirvana to read one of my favourite Dahl short stories, LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER. As we sat there, reading the supremely awesome story, me noticed Random Guy...
Honestly, he wasn't the kind you notice immediately...in fact, I'm pretty sure I passed by the place where he was sitting at least three times... but there was something about the guy, the moment I saw him I knew I didn't want to look away...he was a teensy weensy bit older than me, I guess (like early 20's). He was dressed decently well and looked really nice. However, the actual reason why I was smitten is this: he was reading Roald Dahl's kiddie classic, The BFG (lovely book, btw).
And that's just so damn adorable. I love that despite looking like a mature and serious kind of guy, he was reading a book by Roald Dahl (something I really admire, since just 5 mins before seeing him, I was ecstatic about the fact that there was a fifth Molly Moon book to read).
He sounded nice too. He asked Nirvana the time...I don't remember his voice, but I'm pretty sure I liked it.
Aww damn. I love this guy.

The Things Behind The Sun
Being an over-obsessive person, I'm almost always "in love" with someone/something. Thankfully, I haven't yet experienced the "real deal". Right now, I'm in love with coffee, supernatural, Jensen Ackles, Turquoise, dogs, Mumbai and, amongst other things, Nick Drake.
I first heard Nick's voice in Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums. I didn't really understand the song then...I ws going through my Happy period - I had friends, a family, a "screenplay", a future of riches, fame, power and admiration. Those, of course, were the days in the sun.
I didn't know there were things behind the sun. When there is light in my eyes, there is darkness in someone else's. It was bound to happen...bad days just had to come.
And it was in those days that I really appreciated Nick Drake. It was just one song, but that one tune made me cry, it made me cry during days I didn't know whether to weep or not....it made me forget a tiny part of the pain and the sense of failure I felt...
Thanks, Nick.
I know, my "suffering" wasn't really suffering. There are people who die due to floods, famine, pollution, poverty and pain each day. What do I know of loss and hurt?
I just know one thing: those three months were the worst of my life.
Till yesterday, I had heard of only 7 Nick songs. Thanks to some random guy on the local hub, I now have 42.
Thanks, whoever you are.
I've put all the songs on repeat. I'm feeling happy. And a little weird.
That's because I'm in love with Nick Drake. I love all his songs...that almost never happens. Nick Drake is my guardian angel.
And I'll never get to meet him.
Yet I'll keep waiting for him, keep hoping that I'll meet him one day. Just like I hope that one day I'll get to meet the brother I never knew.
Now there are two people whose presence I'll always feel, despite being born years after their death.
To my brother:
I love you, and I always will.
I'll never meet you. I'll never feel your love. But I know you're there somewhere, watching over me.
When I was born, the only thing left of you was a memory...I wasn't lucky enough to share that. I never knew you. Yet, not a single day has passes without a quiet prayer, a prayer to know and love and hate and fight with a brother I never had....its like a permanent hole...I don't want a sibling, I want you. I want my brother to take care of me and protect me, to love me. And I know, that will never happen. But I wish it does. I pray to god it does. I love you, dear "bro", I love you.
